Voyna returns with "Wrong Face" - a shimmering Post-Punk gem ahead of new album "Monsters"
With "Wrong Face", the first single from the upcoming album "Monsters", due at the end of November, Voyna - the side project of Golden Apes frontman Peer Lebrecht - returns four years after their debut with a refreshingly unpretentious and captivating track.
"Wrong Face" is an elegantly shimmering post-punk/pop gem, the tension between the dynamically bass-driven sparseness of the verses and the airy, almost buoyant chorus being key to its charm. It is a subtle play of light and shadow, tied together by melodic inventiveness and meticulously crafted musical details.
Exultant yet quietly wistful, the song almost lets you catch the wink hidden in the line "...this is a wrong track...", balancing melancholy and lightness with effortless charm. (Vito Schneider)
About VOYNA
VOYNA is the solo project of Peer Lebrecht, frontman of Berlin’s post-punk/darkwave band Golden Apes. Formed in 2020 as a creative outlet, VOYNA merges introspective songwriting with atmospheric soundscapes. Following the acclaimed debut "The Cinvat Bridge" (2021) and the "...and the Heresies" EP (2023), the project returns in 2025 with "Monsters" (Aenaos Records) - a ten-track blend of synth-driven darkwave and guitar-fueled post-punk, set to be brought to the stage throughout 2026.
