With its nineteenth volume, the compilation once again offers a carefully curated selection of goth rock, darkwave, post-punk and related styles. As in previous years, the focus lies on quality, diversity and authenticity rather than big names. The series is known for its above-average gender parity, a deliberate spotlight on newcomers and underground artists, and an international line-up that reflects the vitality of the scene beyond the mainstream.

Artists from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Australia, Germany, the USA, Georgia, Hungary, Denmark, Canada and Italy are featured on this edition.
Fans of energetic, punk-influenced post-punk will appreciate tracks by Izzy and the Black Trees from Poland, alongside Neponset Monastery, Funeral Process and Dystymania - songs with drive and attitude.
Gothic rock is represented by established German acts such as Mystigma and Reptyle, as well as Voyna, a side project of Golden Apes singer Peer Lebrecht. Further contributions come from Black Rain, Black Rose Moves, Truly Lost and The Glass House Museum.
More electronic and wave-oriented sounds are delivered by The Occasion, the project of Vanessa Funke, complemented by tracks from Mixina, Bleached Heat, Don't, Ceremony Shadows and Plastik Noir.
The compilation also leaves room for stylistic variety: the psych-rock band Hollow Howl, doom-rock duo Amnesiak, grunge-inspired Isomania and Fuzzdolly, and the Danish band HalfCutLemon with their dream-pop track “The Sun Is Dying” add different shades to the overall atmosphere. A special mention goes to the Canadian duo SU, who reinterpret the Spice Girls' “Say You'll Be There” as a restrained and compelling dark-pop version.
"La Danse Macabre 19" continues the series' concept of presenting a broad yet coherent overview of the contemporary dark alternative underground - carefully selected and thoughtfully sequenced.
