Golden Apes return with haunting new single "Stranger (When I Left)"
Following the March release of “The Highest Point", Berlin’s Golden Apes continue their ascent toward a new full-length album slated for next year. Their newest single “Stranger (When I Left)” is now available and marks a striking chapter in their evolving soundscape.
Driven by distorted guitars and dramatic dynamics, the track offers a powerful nod to the band’s Goth rock roots - no accident, as it serves as a spiritual and lyrical successor to “Travelling Strangers” , a song from their early catalog nearly 25 years ago.
With its textured blend of grit and glow, the single explores themes of departure, loss, and alienation. The atmosphere is chilling yet deeply melodic - a hallmark of the band’s signature style: melancholic, melodic, and impossible to pin down.
