"We Wasted All Our Memories" - new Emerald Park single to be released in November
In 1982, a well-known Swedish band released a song about a walk in the summer rain. Swedish musical life at that time was divided into two groups. It was almost like a race between Blur-Oasis or Beatles-Rolling Stones. Tobias, singer, and songwriter of the band Emerald Park was still a kid at the time but grew up with this competition and tended to side with the Beatles or Blur.
In July this year, Tobias heard this song on the radio and had the idea for the lyrics to "We Wasted All Our Memories", which had already been recorded at the time. Tobias couldn’t hide the fact that the nostalgic lyrics that the band used to write really appealed to him.
"We Wasted All Our Memories" is the second joint single by Emerald Park, Danish Daycare and The Lonely Sasquatch. The tempo is faster this time, and the song seems almost danceable. Stars or Arcade Fire could be a reference. However, the emotional mood follows the previous song with its Nordic melancholy, which is characterized by a nostalgic hopelessness.
The song was recorded at A Place to Mourn by Mattias (The Lonely Sasquatch). The instruments were played by Mattias, Tobias, Daniel, and their mutual friend Linus Lindvall. Daniel (Danish Daycare) mixed the song and Carl Granberg did the mastering.
