🎄Christmas time is you
There would be no Christmas carol this year. That was what had been decided. At least that's what Tobias Borelius (Emerald Park, And The Broken, Silvermannen) thought. But then came the sound file and the message from Johan Eckman at the beginning of October: "I've made a song that will be this year's Christmas carol."
Ok, so Tobias had nothing to say. It just had to be. Tobias took the basic idea, stitched out the melody and lyrics and sang them in. Johan did the arrangements, and the result was "Christmas time is you".
In contrast to last year's "A Wishful Christmas", which depicted an unfulfilled dream of love, this year's contribution to the Christmas carol is more hopeful in its message, despite its melancholy tone. The message of the song is that music, community, and humanity can be the cornerstones of Christmas.
Musically, the song follows the theme Eckman & Borelius have taken up throughout the year, i.e. piano, vocals and sparing use of other instruments.
"Christmas time is you" will be officially released on November 24, 2023.
