Danish band HalfCutLemon released new album "This Ain’t Real"

Copenhagen four-piece HalfCutLemon return with their second album This Ain't Real, out September 26, 2025 via Aenaos Records.

Danish band HalfCutLemon released new album "This Ain’t Real"

Recorded at the legendary Sweet Silence Studio with producer Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica), the nine-track LP expands the band's sound from ferocious chainsaw punk ("Ointment") to sweeping baroque pop drama ("The Sun Is Dying").

Adding extra depth are guest appearances from post-punk icon Peter Peter and acclaimed vocalist Persille Ingerslev, who both help push HalfCutLemon's vision into bold new territory.

The record has already been previewed by two striking singles: "Ointment", described by Turn Up The Volume as "a hefty haymaker" and praised by Lost In The Manor for its "raw brashness and melodic sadness"; and "The Sun Is Dying", hailed by Hella Fuzz as "a slow-burning elegy… urgent yet unnerving" and spotlighted by Nordic Music Central for its timely, resonant message. Both tracks underline the band's ability to fuse jagged punk energy with cinematic textures, marking This Ain't Real as their most ambitious statement yet.

Lyrically, HalfCutLemon reflect on today's turbulence (The Sun Is Dying, Fist), the passage of time (Summer's Gone), and even a celebration of science and human renewal (Up). The result is an album that confronts the present while finding space for hope and beauty. This Ain't Real is a bold step forward for HalfCutLemon, confirming their place among the most exciting voices in contemporary post-punk.
